Feminism had a huge effect on the women's role in society and in family life. Women got sick and tired of the strict home life. They were getting bored with just saying home and taking care of the family. They decide that it was not enough, and that things had to change. They wanted equality between men and women and wanted the same opportunities that men got. Feminism had a great deal of effect on the every day role of women. The whole ideal life style had changed dramatically. Women started to go to school and joined the work force. They change the image of a typical woman.

Feminism caused women life style to change in big ways. The women now were choosing to go to college to get an education. They wanted to opportunity to go out and make a living and help support the family. There education was important to them. "In my mother's generation, a woman felt she had to marry a man with a successful career, whereas today she is supposed to focus on her own."(Roiphe) The women were not happy just saying home and talking care of the family anymore. Women wanted a more fulfilling life style then the one that they had been living. With a rise in women going to college it made a rise in the number of women that were entering the work force. Women wanted a life outside of the home.
Feminism also caused a women's life style to change. Since women were now working and not just staying home taking care of the kids there was a need for daycares. The mother was not raising the children as much since they had a life out side of the home. Another effect that feminist had was the size of family decrease and birth control was introduced. Since most mothers were no longer full time they decide to cut down the size of the family. Some women even chose not to have kids because their priority was their education and career; not a family.
