Procrastination, it’s what all high school students participate in at one point or another in their high school career. Whether they have a daily assignment due the next day or a big test to study for or even a giant project to complete students will put it off until the last instant at least once even if they are a role model student. Procrastination can hurt a student’s grade harshly if they take part in this activity too often.
Last year in World Geography we had to create our own country and we had month to complete it. Needless to say, I put it off that how month that I had to do it and remembered to work on it the day before. I was up until three in the morning working on it and didn’t ever come close to finishing it. I presented it in front of the class that morning and failed that project big time.

That wasn’t the last time that I’d procrastinate. Just a couple of weeks ago I procrastinated in my history class. We had a test on two consecutive chapters and the questions were taken directly from the text of the book and I put off reading the chapters until the night before the test and couldn’t finish either of the chapters by the time I remembered that I had to read them. The next morning I was cramming as much of the chapter into my head as I could before first period. Apparently my brain didn’t retain the cramming session from that morning. I got the results of my test back and I got a fifty seven percent.
Since those two failing grades I haven’t put a single project, study, or assignment off. Procrastination doesn’t get you anywhere, it just puts you more behind than you were. Ever since then, as soon as I received an assignment I’ve planned ahead what I’m going to do each day leading up to the due date. If you want to be a good role model and not mess up in high school then don’t procrastinate anything.
